How to play netball

 How to play netball
Netball is a no-contact game that you need seven people on each team on the court to be able to play at least three quarters.
The object of netball is to score more points than your opponent. A netball game lasts for 60 minutes and there are three to four quarters. There should be at least 10 people in your team and when you play there should be three aside and 7 players on the court.
This is split into four quarters, with each quarter lasting 15 minutes. Between the first and second quarters and the third and fourth quarters, there is a break of three minutes. Between the second and third quarters -half-time - there is a break of five minutes.
A referee or umpire is allowed to call time and when they do, the timekeeper will stop the timer, which begins again when play starts again. There is a maximum of two minutes allowed for an injury.
Players and Equipment.
There are set positions in a netball team and these positions will limit where the player can be on the court.  Goal shooter, Goal Attack, Wing Attack, Centre Wing Defence, Goal Defence, and Goal Keeper.
Rules.
A match consists of four quarters lasting 15 minutes each. Each team can have a maximum of seven players and a minimum of five, the court must be divided into three sections with each player holding a position on the court.

If a player moves into a position that they shouldn’t be in, they will be deemed to be offside. Players cannot hold the ball for more than three seconds, players cannot take more than 1.5 steps when in possession of the ball.  The ball must go through the ringed hoop for a goal to be given.
To win in netball you must score more points than your opponent. The netball ball must be moved around the court by passing and there are a number of different passes available to a player. The ball must be worked to the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack players, who attempt to shoot from inside the half-circle.
A goal is scored in netball when the ball is passed to a player in the goal third who shoots the ball through their opponent’s goal ring. Only the Goal Shooter or Goal Attack can score goals in netball and they must be within the half-circle when they shoot.

In conclusion, Netball is a fun, friendly game and that is how you play a game of netball.   By Capri

How a political party in New Zealand wins an election.

How a political party in New Zealand wins an election.

How a political party in New Zealand wins an election.

How does it work?

Political parties in New Zealand can be either registered or unregistered. Registered parties must have five-hundred paying members, each eligible to vote in general elections. If a party registers, it may submit a party list, enabling it to receive party votes in New Zealand's MMP electoral system.

Parties compete to win votes.

In a common election, every voter gets two votes they get to vote for an electorate and a party, to get any seats in Parliament. But at least 5% of the party can win an electorate seat.

Your electorate vote goes to the candidate you most want to represent the area you live in, which is called your electorate. Each party chooses candidates to stand for election in electorates. The candidates with the most votes in each electorate become electorate MPs.

Your electorate vote helps decide who your local member of Parliament will be. There’s a different choice of candidates in each of the 64 general electorates and seven Maori electorates. Each candidate usually represents a political party, but a

candidate may stand for election independent of a party. The candidate who wins the most electoral votes wins the seat.

In conclusion that’s how a political party in New Zealand wins an election.

 The cause of climate change

What causes the climate to change and the consequences of these changes.

The main cause of climate change is humanity’s increase in using fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, electricity, and transportation like cars and planes. Fossil fuels come from the ground, it’s natural but they get turned into deadly gases. The greenhouse effect also causes climate change. When the sun’s energy reaches the Earth’s atmosphere it heats up the earth causing it to get hotter and hotter leveling up climate change.

Another thing that causes climate change is deforestation. When trees get cut, burnt, or left to rot the carbon dioxide that’s in them gets released into the air and poisons the natural fresh air we breathe. This is why we shouldn’t always cut down trees every day, let them grow because without trees we wouldn't be alive.

The other thing that causes the climate to change is the ocean and what’s in it. But what’s the problem with the ocean in climate change? If you haven’t noticed that the ice is melting day by day and slowly polar bears and penguins and all sorts of animals that live on the ice are slowly dying and going extinct. Also plastic is another huge reason why the climate is changing. Plastic is in the ocean and is in the sea and the marine life mistakes it for food and ends up dying after eating it.

In conclusion, climate change is bad and we should start reducing more things like fossil fuels and pollution.

Explanation writing

Why plastic pollution is a global problem!

Plastic is a very big problem because it kills wildlife because they accidentally eat it in the ocean and on land.

Plastic is used all over the world. There's a plastic bag, plastic bottles and lots of daily life things are made from plastic. But not many people realize that once they finish using it they just throw it away with realizing the harm it causes. Plastic pollution has become one issue, plastic is made from fossil fuel just over a century old and it produces around one thousand pieces of plastic a day.

Many plastics such as plastic bottles and bags are thrown in the ocean each day and two hundred plastic bags get left in the forest each day too. Our sea life and land life mistake it for food and end up dying because of the plastic us humans throw away.

We have tried recycling and some of us still do it but it hasn’t made a big enough difference. Even though it does reduce some landfill and it does save money but, DOES it really make a difference? Animals are still dying and the plastic is still ending up in the ocean.

Global warming is also caused by plastic but not just plastic, it's also caused by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and from human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and farming.

In conclusion, plastic is a problem that can’t be stopped but it can be reduced.

The plan of getting a puppy (script writing)

The two characters start sitting across from each other talking about pets.

Mr cheese: I think it would be fair if I got a pet.

Liz: Well, it would be amazing but you know your parents hate pets.

Mr cheese: but my dad had a pet when he was younger. But he was walking home one day from school and then a dog came out of nowhere and attacked.

Liz: That’s why your dad hates animals, what about your mum.

Mr cheese: She says no because it’s always her responsibility and its always her money we are wasting.

Liz: I have a plan. I'm positive it will work because it worked for me. To the warehouse.

Mr cheese: (Yes Sir, Lady, Queen, Capri your highness. I’m happy to just take orders from you.)-sarcasm, jeez.

Liz: Want a dog or not.

Mr cheese: yes fine let’s go.

At the warehouse

Liz: found it

Mr cheese: What is that

Liz: A robot dog. It barks, walks, eats, sleeps, and um goes to the toilet. Plus it only costs $100000

Mr cheese: A bit out of my budget.

Liz: Have you ever thought about how terrible your name is?

Mr cheese: Yes I just think my parents wanted a permanent joke.

Liz: let’s just pester them then.

Mr cheese: sure.

4 hours later

Liz: why do they never listen?

Mr cheese: because I haven’t given them a gift yet.

Liz well then let’s go get one.

In the store.

Liz: let’s go get some ice cream

Mr. Cheese: 20 buckets!

Liz: to the checkout.

Refugees

This week we have been learning about refugees: Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or a natural disaster. The image above is my Mahi I had to do and we had to read a graphic novel called "my name is Rez" it was about a young girl from a small place called Kurdistan and she was also seen as a refugee and English was a language she had to learn and it was very hard for her and her family to adjust to other things they weren't very open to.

First day at Tech

Today was my first time at technology as a year 7. We had to take a clear file, ruler, and pencil. there were 2 buses, One bus filed with year 8 and one filled with year 7. When we got to the intermediate where we do technology and we had to line up. When we lined up we split into our class, one was Computer work which was the one I was. My teacher's name was Mr. Russel he is very nice.
Mr. Russel taught us how to use this app called sketch up. We learnt how to use the tools and at the moment we are going the make a holder for pens, pencils and even phones.

I love tech ,its the best Wednesday thing to do.

Have you ever been to Technology?
